Arriving by Car

Madrona Beach Resort is just minutes north of the Nanaimo ferry terminal, or a scenic two-hour drive from Victoria.

To get here from:

  • Nanaimo: Go northbound on Highway 19, then take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • Victoria: Drive north on Highway 1 to Nanaimo. Just south of Nanaimo, take the exit for Highway 19, then take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • Vancouver and the Fraser Valley: Take the Lion's Gate Bridge or Second Narrows Bridge across Burrard Inlet, then follow the signs to Horseshoe Bay and take BC Ferries to Nanaimo. Exit from the ferry and keep to the two right-hand lanes, turning onto northbound Highway 19. Take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • Vancouver Airport and South Vancouver: Take Highway 10 and 99 to the BC Ferries terminal in Tsawwassen and catch the ferry to Duke Point (south Nanaimo). Head north on Highway 1. Exit onto northbound Highway 19, and then take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • Seattle: Head north on I-5 and cross the border at Blaine, Washington. Continue north on Highway 99 and take the exit for the BC Ferries terminal in Tsawwassen. Catch the ferry to Nanaimo (Duke Point). Head north on Highway 1. Exit onto northbound Highway 19, and then take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • There are also ferries out of Anacortes and Port Angeles, Washington that will take you to Victoria, where you can follow Highway 1 and 19 north to Parksville.
  • Tofino or Ucluelet: Take Highway 4 eastbound toward Qualicum Beach (it's about a two to two-and-a-half hour drive). Take the exit onto the Island Highway, and then take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.
  • Comox Valley and the North Island: Take either the scenic coastal Oceanside Route 19A south from Courtenay, or the four-lane Inland Island Highway 19 south. If you take Highway 19, take exit #46 onto Highway 19A/Island Highway East (to Parksville). Turn right on Resort Way. Turn left on Resort Drive. Madrona Beach Resort is on the right side of the road at 1145 Resort Drive.

Arriving by Bus

  • Island Link Bus Services offers bus service to and from the Nanaimo ferry terminals, the Vancouver Airport and other locations on Vancouver Island.
  • Via Rail offers train service between Victoria, Nanaimo and Courtenay. This beautiful, scenic route takes you over the Malahat.
  • Bus service into Nanaimo is also available from downtown Victoria through Greyhound

Arriving by Air

Qualicum Beach Airport is the closest small airport, with limited service. Larger commercial airlines offer flight connections into the nearby Nanaimo and Comox Valley airports.

  • KDAir offers flights from Vancouver to Qualicum Beach Airport.
  • Air Canada flies from Vancouver to Nanaimo Airport.
  • WestJet flies direct from Calgary to Comox Valley Airport.

Arriving by Sea

All BC Ferries offer service to walk-on passengers.

Full-service marinas are located in Nanoose Bay, Deep Bay, and French Creek.
